How tuition and aid work

What sets tuition, how a place is held and how to ask about aid, in plain words.

  • Tuition is set by the year and by the studio a child is in. Early care and after studio are billed apart, by the month, for the days a family uses. The school's figures are on the admissions page and are given at every visit, so you never read an old one.

  • Registration

A family pays an application fee when it applies, which covers reading the application and the morning a child spends in a studio. After an offer there is an enrollment fee that holds the place and goes toward tuition. Each is listed, with its purpose, in the program matrix.

    • Application: when a family applies

    • Enrollment: when an offer is accepted

  • Holding a place

A place is held when the family signs the enrollment agreement and makes the first payment. Families have until early April to answer an offer. If a studio is full, the office keeps a waitlist and calls families in the order they joined.

    • Signed agreement and first payment

    • Waitlist by order of joining

  • Billing

Families pay by the year, by the term or by the month. Monthly payments run by autopay through the school's online system, and the office goes over the schedule with you when you enroll.

  • Help with tuition

Financial aid is available; here is how to apply. After you submit an application, the office sends an aid form. A small committee reads each form and answers in the same week as admissions decisions. Ask the office about Rhode Island programs that may apply to your family.

    • An aid form follows the application

    • Answers come with admissions decisions

    • Ask us about state programs

  • Siblings

A second child, or a third, is handled differently, and the office explains how when you apply. Brothers and sisters are read in the same season so a family hears about everyone at once.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a term's written notice before a child leaves, so the studio can offer the place to a family on the waitlist. The office will talk through a term already under way.

    • Written notice a term ahead
