Safety routines
Arrival and dismissal
A teacher greets each child at the door and walks each child to the right car or bus line. Only the adults on a family's pickup list may collect a child.
Visitors
Every visitor signs in at the office and wears a badge. Parents who help in a studio sign in the same way.
Tools and materials
A teacher shows a tool before a child uses it, and the making studio's tools stay in a cabinet when the room is not in use.
Going out
Children go out in small groups, each with an adult and a plan the family has signed for. The group leaves a route and a phone number at the office.
Drills
We practice fire and severe-weather drills on a calendar the head of school keeps, and we tell the children about each drill beforehand.
Allergies and illness
Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll. A child who is unwell stays home until the next morning, and a teacher calls a parent when a child is unwell at school.
